The Doc and Chef's Tropical Heat Hot Sauce!

This was a super fun Doc and Chef episode! During our show on the health benefits of capsaicin, we made this delicious mango habanero hot sauce and named it Tropical Heat! Watch out - it may just be in a store near you, soon!!

Ingredients

Setup

  • 5 habanero peppers chopped(can use more to taste)
  • 2 mango peeled and chopped
  • 1 small white onion chopped (about 3/4 cup)
  • ¼ cup yellow or brown mustard
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

 

Directions

Add all ingredients to a food processor. Process until smooth.

Add to a large pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Cool then transfer to serving bottles. Secure lid tightly and store in refrigerator. Will keep for 3 months.
