I am your typical gym rat and have been for over half of my life, but there is one thing I could never conquer; how to run. Secretly for years I have wanted to learn how to run. Sounds simple, right? Call it a brain block or whatever, I could never figure it out. Until I met Kourtney. I began working out at Shred415 in St. Louis when they opened and took advantage of their grand opening pricing of 30 days at a reduced rate. I loved their high intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts which also included 30 minutes (split into 2 segments typically) of running.
Challenging, yes, but I had the floor workouts, including weights, nailed, but, those running intervals.... As I closed in on the 30 day end I realized that I was running during the entire 15 minute intervals! It completely snuck up on me. I looked back at which trainer I was going to most often and realized it was Kourtney who was training me how to run, without me even knowing it. When I re-upped a month or two later, I told the girls I was back mainly because of this, and they said, "oh yeah, Kourtney is a running coach". I really had no idea.
After a few weeks of back and forth on Twitter, Kourtney emails me and asks me if she can interview me for her blog and I also learn that she is the founder and owner of Lagniappe Fitness. In her email she tells me that shes been watching me on social media for a few years and was excited to have me in her classes.
Let the love fest begin...
