Anti-inflammatory Chocolate Smoothie

Created for my Inflammation episode of The Exam Room Podcast with Dr. Jim Loomis and Chuck Carrol, this is a DELICIOUS chocolate-y cup of love you can start your day off! It's packed with anti-inflammatory foods to help fight chronic inflammation. I have also kept this somewhat low on the calorie scale which is why you will not see added seeds, avocado or nut butters.

Also -this was a challenge brought on to me by the guys, so I literally threw a log of highly anti-inflammatory ingredients I had here at the shop and boy, did it work out!! I don't have exact measurements for this, please play around with it.

This is the Cheezy Whiz recipe I also made for the show.

Ingredients

Setup

  • 1/2 cup broccoli microgreens
  • 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/3 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup frozen cherries
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 handful of baby spinach
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground turmeric
  • a few turns of the black pepper grinder
  • 1/3 cup cacao powder

Directions

Add all ingredients to a blender and drizzle in water to get it to the desired thickness. Enjoy!!
